“If it costs you your peace, it’s too expensive.”

Victoria Trent is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker bringing more than 20 years of experience to private practice.  She earned her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and is certified to provide clinical supervision to Licensed Clinical Social Worker candidates in the state of Virginia.

From my 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families, I know you have the ability to make lasting changes in your life.  My experience has taught me the most important aspect of therapy is the connection you feel with the person you choose to share your struggles.  We can all grow through challenging experiences and, if you are ready to do the work, you will be amazed at how capable you are to explore parts of yourself you never knew existed.  My goal when working with clients, and the process of therapy, is for you to grow more quickly than you ever have before.

Throughout my career, I have worked with adults, teens, and families who are navigating challenging circumstances.  Depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, career transitions, addiction and life-altering illness are just some of the issues I have worked with. Clients have unique needs and I use a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and trauma informed treatment, with training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).  EMDR is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.

My role as a therapist is to spark change in people’s lives and relationships. I truly believe each of us deserve to live the best life we can.  If you are ready to explore what is getting in your way and figure out what to do to accomplish your life’s goals, then contact me at Family Guidance Centers.
