“What we know matters, but who we are matters more.” – Brene Brown

Mallory Talbert, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Counselor Education from Longwood University. She has several years of experience in community-based mental health providing services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Mallory began her career working with young adults in a college setting and later completed her residency in a school-based mental health program.

Mallory takes an eclectic, client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Feminist Theory. She specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, ADHD, behavioral challenges, self-esteem and body image concerns, and various other mental health needs.

Mallory enjoys working with teens, adults, couples, and families. Believing that each client’s journey is unique, Mallory prioritizes creating a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship. She works alongside clients to identify meaningful short- and long-term goals, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to create lasting change. In her work with couples, she emphasizes healthy communication, mutual understanding, and teamwork, supporting both individual growth and the strength of the relationship.

Outside of the counseling office, Mallory enjoys reading, event planning, and spending time with her family and her two dogs.
