Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Virginia Beach Office

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” – Lao Tzu

I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from West Virginia University in 1990. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience in a variety of settings.I began my thirty plus years of clinical practice in West Virginia working with disadvantaged youth and their families in residential treatment and in-home services.I moved to Nashville, Tennessee where I continued my therapy services with youth and families through intensive in-home and partial hospitalization day programs. Next, I began working with elders and adults experiencing mental and/or chemical health recovery needs. After many years, I relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota and continued my clinical practice with all people, as I do today in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I work with my clients in a compassionate and understanding way while addressing a variety of important issues to include: depression, anxiety, stress, marital conflict, self harm, sexual abuse, chronic pain and illness, LGBTQA+ issues, gender identity and dysphoria, OCD, PTSD, trauma, alcoholism, substance abuse, anger management and grief issues.

I am passionate about helping people heal and thrive. Healing begins at the first session. With healing on one hand and using new coping skills on the other, each individual creates unique changes for today and future tomorrows.

Over the many years, folks report their therapy experiences as compassionate, meaningful and useful. I look forward to serving each person. And I am always amazed at people’s resilience and determination.
