“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning how to dance in the rain.” – Vivian Green
Jessica Beach and her family moved to Richmond in August 2017 and fell in love with the area. She grew up in Long Island, New York and obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Stony Brook University. Jessica and her family spent 10 years living in sunny Florida where she worked in a community mental health agency. She received her LCSW during this time and had the privilege of working with a diverse population.
Jessica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is experienced in working with adolescents, adults, and families. She is currently working with adult individuals and couples who are struggling with depression, anxiety, chronic illness, relationship challenges, and parenting issues. Jessica also works with individuals who have experienced grief and loss and provides trauma counseling for individuals who have more persistent unresolved concerns, including veterans and active-duty service members. Jessica and Michael also provide a collaborative approach to couples counseling. Both clinicians work with individual participants to resolve issues that are impacting the relationship.
Jessica believes that we all have struggles that can benefit from support from time to time. Using Strengths Perspective, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and emotion regulation skills, Jessica has seen individuals resolve specific issues and feel more prepared to address future life challenges. Jessica also believes that as social beings we ultimately heal and grow when provided the tools, support and encouragement needed.
Testimonials
“I have been a patient of Jessica Beach’s for about six years, following her from her previous office to Family Guidance Center. Jessica is a very thoughtful and effective therapist. We have worked together through intense traumatic issues, as well as toward long-term mental health goals. She appreciates the trust I place in her, and I appreciate her care and insights, which she dispenses with sensitivity and humor. I intend to remain a patient as long as she is practicing!”
“I started seeing Jessica Beach when I was pregnant with my second child to help my issues with postpartum depression along with some other concerns. At our first session, I was immediately put at ease with how personable she was. I was also relieved at finally finding someone who could normalize what I was going through. She always reminds me that I’m not alone in my experience and that I’m not defective. She has provided me with so many tools to use when I am struggling and her guidance has been invaluable. I highly recommend seeing her.”
