Ellen Welthy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 16 years of experience. She graduated from Adelphi University in New York with a Masters Degree in Social Work in 1989. Ellen has worked in Virginia, New York, and Florida. She has worked in various settings including mental health clinics in New York where she coordinated with psychiatrists in the care of children, adolescents, and adults. Ellen worked in community counseling centers in Florida providing couples counseling and individual therapy to adults. She worked in after-school programs for emotionally disabled children in Florida and Virginia. Ellen has worked with parents to improve parenting skills and improve family relationships.
Ellen utilizes Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Strategic Family Therapy techniques to help clients to ascertain and achieve their goals. She believes in the power of relationship, trust, and respect in the therapy setting. Ellen has interest in working with adults, and children, couples and families. She works with clients with depression, anxiety, behavioral and interpersonal problems.
