Dr. Ampy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech where she graduated with honors (Commonwealth Scholar, Magna Cum Laude) and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa (a prestigious honor society). She earned both her Master of Science degree and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Ampy also completed additional training to receive licensure as a School Psychologist with the Virginia Department of Education. 

Dr. Ampy is a client-centered Licensed Clinical and School Psychologist with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. She has worked in various settings including schools, hospitals, treatment centers, outpatient offices, and forensic settings. Dr. Ampy has been trained to work with a variety of concerns including, but not limited to, the following: ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress management, relational/interpersonal concerns, anger management, multicultural concerns, identity related concerns, and adjustment disorders. 

Dr. Ampy uses a strength-based approach to help individuals develop and reach their goals. She utilizes various therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral, family systems, and solution focused to help address client concerns. She believes in creating a therapeutic environment that is welcoming and supportive through a collaborative process that is focused on the individual needs and/or goals of the client.
