Catherine Medina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 23 years of experience working with adults, children, couples and families. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Social Work. Catherine has worked in Florida and Virginia, in various settings including community based mental health, outpatient services, residential services for adults and children, and psychiatric hospitals. Catherine has worked with adults and adolescents recovering from traumatic experiences as well as those experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationship issues.
Catherine uses trauma focused approaches that blend elements of Psychodynamic Therapy, Attachment Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Client Centered Therapy to focus on how individuals attempt to meet unmet emotional needs and how to create more adaptive methods for self-fulfillment. Catherine uses humor and a very down to earth presence to create an environment where clients can experience safety, trust, and support as they explore their inner experiences.
