Michael Carter is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He has his Master of Divinity in Marriage and Family Therapy from Amridge University in Montgomery, Alabama. He has experience working with individuals and families from numerous cultural backgrounds as well as varying age groups. His experience also includes working with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, anger related issues, trauma, self-esteem issues, PTSD, substance abuse, behavioral problems, and parenting challenges. He is very knowledgeable about crisis related issues and has been working as a crisis counselor for the last several years. He seeks to help each client to achieve their goals and to develop a healthier self.
Prior to his work as a counselor, he served as a full-time minister, and in this role, he had the opportunity to help children, teens, adults, and families with their counseling needs, conduct pre-marital counseling with couples, and provide individuals and families with grief counseling during their time of loss of loved ones. Michael continues to serve part-time as a minister.
Outside of counseling, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, doing organic gardening, playing guitar, taking Kung-fu lessons, exploring nature, and meeting new people. Michael looks forward to working with you and helping you grow through your challenges along your life journey.
