“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” -Maria Robinson

Sometimes you just need someone to talk to. Our relationships are meant to be the fuel that gives us energy to develop our gifts in life, but when those relationships are strained, we can feel drained, depleted, and without support. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Sara believes that everyone deserves to have their voice heard. Using a person-centered approach, she strives to understand her clients from their perspective. She also assists with identifying blind spots and potential areas for growth, helping her clients gain an awareness of themselves and their situation by incorporating perspectives from an eclectic theory base including cognitive behavioral, DBT, solution-focused, and family systems. She will provide Christian-oriented counseling if requested by the client.

Sara received her B.S. in Religion from Liberty University, and worked as a flight attendant for seven years before returning to school for her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which was awarded by Radford University in 2014. A native Richmonder, Sara has recently come back to the area after living and working in the Shenandoah Valley for the past six years. Sara has experience working with a diverse population, including those affected by anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma-related issues, and life stressors and adjustments. Sara has worked in the intake department at a public mental health agency, as well as in emergency mental health. She has provided case management for an assertive community treatment team, and has served in residential programs for mentally ill adults and children in foster care. Most recently, she has provided psychoeducational skills groups and individual and group counseling at an inpatient, short-term crisis stabilization unit for adults. Sara is currently accepting new clients aged 14+ for individual therapy. Call our office, and let today be the day you change how your story ends.
