Dr. William McKenna, LCPLicensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. McKenna is a proud Richmond native and loves serving in his hometown! He graduated from Benedictine High School in 2007, Belmont Abbey College in 2011, and The Institute for the Psychological Sciences in 2017. He and his wife have two wonderful girls along with two dogs. They love spending time both at the beach and hiking along the James River.
Dr. McKenna is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and specializes in both Clinical and Forensic Psychology.
Dr. McKenna's expertise includes providing psychological evaluations for such issues as ADHD, Autism, Executive Functioning problems, personality disorders, trauma, and psychosis. Additionally, he provides educational testing for learning disabilities, IQ testing, and testing for private school admissions. Dr. McKenna provides disability evaluations for military veterans, and he is a Nationally Registered Health Service Psychologist. He additionally provides individual therapy for a variety of issues such as trauma and life stressors. Finally, Dr. McKenna is currently working towards board certification in Clinical Psychology with the American Board of Professional Psychology.
His expertise also includes providing forensic evaluations for competency to stand trial and sanity evaluations. Additionally, Dr. McKenna is approved by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services to conduct these evaluations within the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is currently working towards gaining expertise in conducting sexual offender evaluations and evaluations in capital sentencing proceedings. Dr. McKenna also provides civil commitment evaluations at Central State Hospital, Parham Doctors Hospital, and St. Marys Hospital. He is working towards board certification in Forensic Psychology with the American Board of Professional Psychology.
