Kate E. Jones, Psy.D.Licensed Clinical Psychologist
"Welcome to the process of self-exploration, self-acceptance, and introspection that psychotherapy offers. I am Dr. Jones, and I thank you for viewing my profile. I work to understand your subjective experience and provide a safe place to explore what you feel contributes to the reason you sought services in the first place. I encourage you to express your reactions to my approach, your feelings about our discussions, as well as your frustrations in an open, and non-judgmental context. I look forward to working with you, and thank you for sharing your story with me!"
Dr. Jones graduated from Mansfield University in 2006. Continuing her education, she received her Master of Arts Degree from Marywood University in 2009 and her Doctorate of Psychology from Immaculata University in 2014. Dr. Jones has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations over the course of the past decade in a variety of settings and contexts. She would like to continue working with individuals across the lifespan experiencing myriad issues including, but not limited to: Depression, Anxiety and Panic Disorder, Abuse survivors, Substance use, Trauma and PTSD, Body image and self-acceptance, Children and Adolescent issues, Parenting Concerns, Self-exploration, and Identity issues, Women's Issues, Life transitions and Adjustment, Education and Support for caregivers of the elderly, Geriatric Issues, Grief and Bereavement, Mindfulness for Stress and Pain Management, Fabry's Disease.
Over the past two years, I have worked in a Virginia State Psychiatric Facility focusing on the treatment of elderly individuals with serious mental illness requiring short- and long-term hospitalization. This work required a holistic approach that emphasized the patient as well as collaboratively working with his or her caregivers and families. Over the course of my ten year career as well as while receiving my clinical training, I have refined the skills necessary to manage a variety of psychological issues. I engage in ongoing assessment and collaboration with the patients I work with. I value the opportunity to work with you and have seen the power of a genuine relationship leading to change.
