Danielle Boris is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has several years of experience working in the mental health field providing counseling services to children, adolescents, and their families. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2016 and her Masters in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018. Her years working in a school and providing outpatient and therapeutic day treatment services to children have taught her the important skills needed to assess, treat, and support individuals with a variety of mental health disorders. Danielle is well-versed in trauma-informed care and continues to gain experience in associated treatment modalities such as play therapy and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy. She has the most experience working with children and adolescents struggling through anxiety, depression, identity and life transitions, stress, anger management, low self-esteem and trauma.
Danielle believes in working with individuals from a strengths-based approach and building strong therapeutic relationships to most effectively support clients as they address some of life's toughest challenges. She often incorporates play therapy into her work with children and is passionate about the way in which play can heal.
