Antoinette Sherman is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is certified by the National Certified Board of Counselors. Antoinette earned a Master of Science in Psychology from University of Phoenix and a Master in Counselor Education from Virginia State University. She has worked in the mental health field since 2007 and served populations from 4-89 years of age. She has had the pleasure of connecting with individuals in a variety of settings to include Group Home, Juvenile Court Service Unit, Mental Health Skill-Building, Intensive In-Home,Therapeutic Day Treatment, Residential Diversion, Crisis Stabilization, and treatment services provided by local government Community Service Boards.
She has provided individual and family psychotherapy treatment, supervised court-ordered parental visitations,and has facilitated pro-social skill groups for school-aged children.
Antoinette is a certified prescreener as identified by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). She is trained in Emotional Freedom Tapping, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Crisis Intervention, and Behavioral Therapy.
Throughout her career, she has provided therapeutic interventions for a variety of mental health diagnoses such as Depressive Disorders, Bipolar and Related Disorders, Schizophrenia, Spectrum Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Disruptive, Impulse-Control, and Conduct Disorder. She has also provided affirming gender identification support, support for relationship difficulties, self-esteem, grief, life transitions, and other issues.
